Three friends who bought a piece of land
We found each other by luck and learned to trust each other over many years. In our mid-to-late thirties, we wanted to invest in something. One of us suggested not an apartment or a loft, but a piece of land, and chasing the dream.
None of us had ever worked with trees or soil. We were city people, and we loved the idea anyway. We searched for almost a year. Then, in August 2025, we found a place we couldn’t walk away from. Its previous owner became a guide and a friend, always steering us the right way.
We bought the finca in November, in the middle of harvest season. There was paperwork, changing weather and a whole new way of living to understand. At Christmas, friends and family came for the first time, and the place began to feel like home.
In the new year we picked our first olives. We blended varieties and did it largely by instinct, and the oil surprised us. We also harvested almonds, loquats and carobs, and started eating from our own garden. We learned to work with wood, to drive a tractor, to read tomorrow’s weather in the sky. We learned to be partners: to ask better questions, to spend for everyone’s good, to be careful with money.
Now it’s harvest season again. We’re better prepared, a little wiser, and still dancing.
